Screening

Whilst most employees have access to health and wellness screening via their medical aids / public health clinics few employees make the time for screening to manage existing conditions such as blood pressure and diabetes. Fewer still commit to regular preventative screening. Collectively this culminates in an increased risk for uncontrolled blood pressure, blood sugar etc. and may have a direct impact on absenteeism and presenteeism. By offering opportunities for screening in the workplace employees are encouraged to make use of the facilities which directly translates to improved management of potential risk and reduced absenteeism for having the tests conducted elsewhere. Furthermore offering a bouquet of screening dilutes the stigma attached to some of the testing that may otherwise not be conducted.

Employees are given the opportunity for screening via group initiatives such as Wellness Days or Health Risk Assessments as well as during Personal Consulting sessions. The testing made available can include:

  • Blood Alcohol Level
  • Blood Pressure
  • Body Mass index

  • C-Reactive Protein

  • Total Blood Screening
  • Tuberculosis
  • Voluntary Counselling and Testing for HIV
